How do you emboss on an unevenly curved surface?

I have been informed that the Onshape wrap feature only works with uniform cylinders. I need to make a emboss on a curved(not cylinder) surface. There are 4 circles that I want to emboss onto the part. Help would be appreciated!

@vikram_koli595 try using a sketch to SPLIT the face and then apply the MOVE FACE tool.  Does that meet your intent?

Sorry This is what I understand. I Split the main part with the circles then I move the separated pieces?

One way to do this is with a custom feature called Surface Text by @jan_vykydal

Thanks for the methods @matthew_stacy and @MichaelPascoe. I tried these methods on a curved shape and it worked great, but as soon as I tried it with an elliptical cylinder, my hexagon tessellation started looking distorted after I split the sketch from the actual model and after as I moved the faces. I created another part studio where I show these distortions.

Make your document PUBLIC so it can be copied.

Ah, for that shape, this method will work:
    • Create the ellipse shape on the top plane
    • Create the hexagon pattern sketch on the front plane (Note: I used the custom feature Measure Value to get the parameter of the ellipse and calculate the spacing of the hexagons.)
    • Use the custom feature Fold by @konstantin_shiriazdanov
    • Fill the hexagon curves
    • Thicken add/remove the hexagon surfaces

Thanks @matthew_stacy and @MichaelPascoe For the help. Sorry I didn't make the document public @matthew_stacy. I will keep that in mind next time. Thanks again!

    Hello,

How does one use a vector file to import something like a logo into a 3D model to emboss? I created the logo in Illustrator and can save out as a dwg or dwf.

@VM While inside a part studio, within a sketch, there is a button called "Import DXF or DWG". If the files are not already imported into your document, you can do that from within the "Import DXF or DWG" dialogue.

You could then use the Extrude feature or Wrap feature to add or remove it from a solid part. Another approach would be to use Split, then Thicken.
