enhanced variable table with expandable submaps

We are creating a Part Studio Tree that has many layers of Smart Components. We use a map to encapsulate variables of Smart Components when they are incorporated into the Part Studio Tree. Thus we have maps with submaps with subsubmaps, etc. The variable table currently displays a truncated map for any variables that are maps. The variable table needs the ability to expand and view submaps. This would make it easier to quickly find the correct variable name when creating a sketch or writing code.
