Hexagonal pattern

I want to create a plane of hexagons. In many CAD programs that I have used this is trivial but I can't figure out how to do this with onshore? What am I missing?

Check out Paul Chastell's Fill Pattern custom feature:

1. Open link
2. Click "+ Custom features" (top left)
3. Click "Fill pattern"
4. Read the PDF instructions
5. Check out the example
6. Refresh your document so that the custom feature appears in your toolbar
7. Add it from the custom features dropdown or by pressing Alt C and typing fill into the search

Make sure to select all of the faces to pattern, not just one.

Still one of the best solutions to this very common problem. A step-by-step guide would be helpful, but the included examples and Youtube video make the learning curve a rewarding experience.
