Ruled Surface Generating Lumpy Surfaces?

I'm really happy that we finally have a Ruled Surface feature, but the quality of the surfaces is questionable. Here's an image of two surfaces, one is generated with a ruled surface with draft and one is a loft to an offset edge. Both are starting from the same ellipse trying to approximate the same thing. Guess which one is generating the lumpy curvature combs?

Now when I do curvature visualization (zebras) it looks fine. Is this an analysis artifact or is ruled surface generating much denser data with questionable rounding errors?

I will pull a support ticket for this so we can take a closer look.
