API: Make Part Studio Configurable

I am creating new part studios via the REST API. How can I use the API to make the newly created part studios be configured part studios, and define the parameters that can be configured?

    Actually, I realized it's easier to pass the parameters directly to a custom feature than to use the configuration variables.
