What exactly are you trying to copy and paste? If it is an assembly into another assembly, the insert tool should keep all of your sub-assembly orientations. You just can only have one object fixed to the origin if I remember correctly, so that could be your issue.
I entirely agree. It would save SO much headache being able to use the positions of the copied items as a starting point instead of an arbitrary point in space! So, yeah: bump!
@jack_crane Use "Transform Tool" with "Copy in Place" option box ticked, and it will just as you desire. :0)
Is there an equivalent option for Assemblies?
