Copy in place

When copying and pasting in an assembly, it copies and pastes to the 3d position of my mouse, but it would be so much easier for repetitive tasks if it would copy and paste in the same (x, y, z) location of the original object. Is there a way to do this?

Hey Jack,
What exactly are you trying to copy and paste?  If it is an assembly into another assembly, the insert tool should keep all of your sub-assembly orientations.  You just can only have one object fixed to the origin if I remember correctly, so that could be your issue.

I entirely agree. It would save SO much headache being able to use the positions of the copied items as a starting point instead of an arbitrary point in space! So, yeah: bump!

@jack_crane Use "Transform Tool" with "Copy in Place" option box ticked, and it will just as you desire. :0)
