Can you Add to a part and Remove from another when Extruding?

Hello Onshape Community!
I recently converting to Onshape from Fusion 360 (still slightly bitter about this but staying open minded here). I do mostly woodworking projects and create a lot of jointery. I typically draw up a piece, say a table, and then add the joints after. ( I know there are scripts for specific joints).
For example if Im creating a mortise and tenon I usually just extrude the tenon and add it to one part and remove it from the other to create the mortise. Is this possible in Onshape? Is the only option to create another sketch of the tenon and remove that from the other part to create a mortise?
Does this is quesion make sense?

I would also recommend looking at the Mortise & Tenon custom feature: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/57ebf15e06acf910d5ac1b09
As well as the beams custom feature: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/e15c2c668d138f01242d0c80
These should help speed up your workflow a lot.Get in touch: contact@alnis.dev | My personal site: https://alnis.dev

So for example if you wanted to leave .005" clearance in each direction in the mortise for glue thickness, you can do that by clicking the check mark for offset, and type in the amount. Then later lets say you want to leave 1/8" clearance at the bottom of the mortise, you can do that with the move face command, and move it .120" (since you already moved it .005" in the boolean command).
