Boolean Subtract Target Selection

Hello,

I've slowly (albeit very slowly) doing basic/introductory tutorials. However, I haven't found an answer to my inability to select Targets properly for a nominal Boolean Subtract operation.

I have two solids:
  • Original solid translated by Onshape
  • Used Sketch to construct a rectangle on a selected Face on the solid object
  • Used Extrude (symmetric option) on the rectangle
  • Would like to Subtract the extruded rectangle from the solid object
  • Subtract context menu gives me duly:
  • Tools
  • Targets
  • Cannot select the solid or the extruded rectangle (user/operator ignorance)
  • Tools has a magenta background
I did the cursory search and while Onshape Subtract is indeed what I would like to perform, I don't understand how to select the Targets. Would appreciate some pointers, please. Thanks.

Kind regards.
