MET Faculty Search Started
The Ferris State University Mechanical Engineering Technology program has been approved to start a search for a new faculty member. We are looking for a candidate with a Masters or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field and at least five years of continuous non-teaching/research industrial experience.
The ideal candidate will be able to teach courses and labs in mechanical engineering fundamentals aimed at engineering technology students. Potential courses include fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, statics & strength of materials, kinematics, machine design, dynamics, noise & vibration, solid modeling & FEA, mechanical measurements, engineering programming (Python and LabVIEW), and senior project. Labs include fluid mechanics, statics & strength of materials, machine design, mechanical measurements, CAD/FEA, programming, and senior project.
Our goal is to create working engineers by provided a practical/applied education in engineering fundamentals with a considerable amount of hands-on lab experience. Find out more about the MET program at Ferris.edu/MECH.
