Strange behavior with sweep along a helix

Hi I was trying to sweep a profile along a line then a helix and then a straight line again, however Onshape fails to create the feature. I can however extrude the profile, sweep the face of that profile along the helix, and then extrude the profile again, I would have expected both ways of these ways to be equivalent.
Here is a Part Studio that exhibits the behavior:
Sweep 2 fails, but Extrude 2 + Sweep 1 + Extrude 3 succeeds. I tried to make the sketch lines and helix a composite curve, but that didn't work either.
