Problem using the thicken and/or shell function on part

Hi, I'm having some problems using the thicken or shell function on this part, It works up to 5mm but anything higher fails. I suppose the angles or curves are too thight but I cant figure out why and how to change them to make it work without affecting the resulting design too much. Thanks for any help on this!

The curvature quality in the front area is pretty poor:

I suspect that's where it's running into problems.
Try modeling the surfaces with better curvature transitions, then it should probably be fine.
