Onshape Free - I can choose materials but can't see them on my parts.

Onshape free appears to be a pretty good CAD program, but I'm curious about materials. When I assign a material, I don't see any change in the part's appearance. I understand that the Render Studio is not included with the free version, but if I assign a "wood" material (for example), shouldn't I see at least some change in the appearance of the part?
No matter how I assign materials, the part's appearance never seems to change.
Thanks for any help.

Does that mean that we can't render with a texture, say wood grain for example? Although it's pretty much just an aesthetic, it's nice to be able to view a creation with some degree of realistic textures in order to visualize what the assembly would look like in real life.
