Sheet metal made with extrude from sketch does not show bends in bend table

I found one thread that spoke of the tangent joints created from a converted part to sheet metal. But I have not seen any discussions on how to get the bends in the bend table (or ultimately, the center of the bends in the dxf file). Even a very simple part made by extruding an open sketch will not convert the bend to the bend table. The flat pattern is fine. I don't think it's possible to create my part by thickening a closed sketch; the sheet metal wraps around a cylinder.
Any ideas on how I can remedy this? The dxf file needs the center bend marks for it to be usable in my case. Thanks for any help.

Here's a document containing an example. The flat pattern is accurate, but the bend table does not contain the bends.
