How can I project edges of a surface object to a sketch?

I am using instantiator to pull in geometry from another part studio. I want to convert the edges of the pulley surface (see attached image) object to a sketch. I am having difficulties filtering between the sketch and the pulley surface that instantiator pulls in. It is easy to select just the circle/sketch I don't want, is it possible to remove one query/the circle from the rest? Once I have the edges, I want to project them on the sketch plane--just like the 'use' sketching tool. How can I do this in a featurescript?
