How do you "auto-transition" between release states?

Hello,
Set up a workflow that has branching end states. 2 types of releases
Full release and for quote only.
However due to onshapes rules for workflows stating that 1 state can only have 1 "approve" type transition I need to create an in between state for the "for quote only" state.
How do I have it so the middle "for quote only" just happens in the background?
