Want to make this cylinder extrusion hollow

How would I extrude this such that the middle / darker section is hollow ? basically a hollow cylinder.

    There are a number of ways this could be done
    Here is one way

    Looking at the shape of your part another solution would be
    Draw the complete contour, inside, outside in a sketch and then do a Revolve.
