conic with elliptical cross-section

I would like to generate a conic volume, but which has  elliptical cross section. It's (obviously) easy to create one with a circular cross-section using a revolution of a slanted line. It seems that I need to do something else, but I can't figure out what - and my search of the online docs turns up with nothing useful.

Ok forget about it - I figured it out. It was quite simple using a "Loft"

Another relatively simple option is to just assymetrically scale a shape with a circular cross section. Here's an example of turning a sphere into an ellipsoid with 3 unequal axes.
