Parts Library for project

Hi.
Does anybody have reference to a document or tutorial on how to build a parts library for a project.
Let's say I am building a boat. I have a main folder Boat and then sub folders for each part Hull / Deck / Rudder / Mast / Cockpit etc etc.
In the Deck folder sketches I need to reference the Hull folders Part Studio (final deck Extrude) to match the exact dimensions etc. How can I do this as it's not obvious...
Do I have to export the Hull in some way and import it as some kind of dependancy for the Deck ???
Any feedback or best practices would be great
Regards
Steve

But it sounds like you are looking more for layout sketches, variables or even in-context design to drive the boat how you want. Take a look at this for more info on that:
