Counterbore depth dimension bug

carl_larssoncarl_larsson Member Posts: 3
Hi,

I don't know which standard for dimensions Onshape is using but I'm pretty sure the depth of a counterbore should be deeper than the screwhead.

See example for a M4 screw, the heads are 4 mm so why is Onshape defaulting to 4 mm counterbore depth?

@carl_larsson Currently the hole feature only gives initial counterbore sizing for socket head cap screws.  Our eventual intent is to let you pick a fastener that you are making the hole for, and it will then appropriately size for that.  There are lots of different head geometries you could be building a hole for.  In addition there needs to be a recess parameter so you can drive heads below the surface by some intended amount.
