The Educational license vs Free version

Just curious what are the actual differences between the free version and educational? And if my educational version expires - do I loose all my data, or can I still use it with the free version?

    a student account allows you to create private documents, a free account the documents are public.
     after the student account expires, it is possible to view the documents but not edit them, as free accounts cannot access private documents.
     it is possible to renew the student account for another year if you are still a student
