How to loft this shape into circle?

MetroMetro Member Posts: 17 ✭✭
Hello, I've been trying to loft a mushroom-like profile into a circle so that it creates a funnel.
However, I keep getting an error and it won't loft
How do get this to work?
Thank you for any help.

    If you split the circle into 6 pieces (to match the number of edges in the mushroom) you'll have much better luck and control over the loft.

    Here's a simple example:

    By making the points symmetric, I can easily drag them around with "final" selected in order to dial in the shape.

    Thanks Simon,
    I've added six points and mirrored them but I'm still having the same result. What do you mean by "'final' selected"?

    @Metro
    Did you just draw points on the circle?
    You'll have to divide the circle into segments or use match connections in the loft.

    Yes i did just drw the points so I divided the circle into segments using split.
    I also tried match connections but the results are the same. Theres always a conection that's flipped over.

    Try the match connections. You will need to actually select the matching points.
    There is a video in the help file that gives a good demonstration for how to.

    If you use the split command in the circle sketch, you won’t need to match connections.

    @S1mon
    I used the split tool and the result was the same.
    Is the split command sme as the split tool?

    The split is different when sketching or editing a solid.
    On the left are points on a circle and on the right the circle is split like S1mon is taking about in a sketch. Both work. So which ever is your preference.
    Split in solid mode splits a 'part' not a sketch entity. Different tools with different results. See attached example.
