How to modify a step file to follow a curve

Hi there!
I'm looking to modify the following item:
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2927210
Fusion 360 file is included and I can export the nozzle model to .step file for import to OnShape.
I would like to cut a slot into the nozzle to allow an led strip to show through and also have retaining rails to hold the led strip in place.
So, what onshape tools can I extrude things to follow a curve on a .step model?
