linear pattern of parts in assembly to independent parts to allow relative translation or rotation?

ash_watsonash_watson Member Posts: 4
So I'm trying to do a quick motion study using an assembly with 4 instances of the same part connected to two other parts via revolute connections.
The parts were generated as a linear array instances from a parent instance.
I get this message when trying to animate.

I'm guessing this is because they were generated with set spacing as a linear array... is there a way to remove this constraint?
See what I'm trying to do in the "Motion study" assembly studio here:

Any tips and tricks much appreciated

I kind of figured out that I should just bring in multiple instances of a part and place them using mates instead
