Getting one OnShape drawing into another OnShape drawing?

eric_borden595eric_borden595 Member Posts: 21
I would like to "import" one OnShape drawing into another OnShape drawing.  Both drawings are my own.
Not sure how to do this.
I've tried copy past but I get an error "Library version mismatch."
The import action appears to only want to look for files on my local PC.
Thank you in advance,
Eric

It's not super clear what you mean by "import", also do you mean actual "drawings" or just parts?
Right now you can't "merge" multiple drawings into one (i.e. move sheets from one drawing to another)...

But you should be able to move a drawing tab to a different document using the "move to document" option.

If you mean parts, you can use either "move to document" to move the part studio to a different document, or you can "insert" a part from another document into an assembly (as long as you have created a version), or you can "derive" a part into another part studio.

This is the 2D drawing section. (where you make a 2D drawing to print on a piece of paper). Is that what you mean? Or do you mean when you are in the 3D modeling section, which is called part studios.

    Hi @eric_borden595,

If you are trying to copy/move the drawing tab from one document to another. Then follow the below steps:

Move → You can simply move the drawing tab by right-clicking on it and moved to your desired document.
Copy → you can simply copy the drawing tab to clipboard and paste in the other Onshape document.

If you are trying to move the drawing sheets from one tab to another (with in the same document). It's not possible to do it.
You can copy the views from one sheet and paste it in another sheet. I find out that copying all the views will not work most of the time.

Let me know if you need more info.
