export size

I want to end up with 2 objects in Bambu slicer. I do two sketches, one a simple shape and the second a text field with a pair of letters. I extrude the frst sketch. I extrude the second sketch and remove it from the first. I now have a part with the text cut out. I extrude the second sketch again with new and this creates 2 new parts. I now have the original part with the cutout and 2 new parts nicely filling them in. I export the first part. I then export the second part. I import the first part into Bambu studio. When I import the second part I get a message about the part being too small, I got no warning like this for the first part and both of them were exported with the same settings, amd the part shows up huge. I went back the the sketch and added a dimension to the text box, selected the dimension tool and accepted what it suggested. and still no love. I exported all 3 as a 3mf and the inserts were again huge, but it had the additional problem of having the first object aligned to the middle of the second (or hird since the second and third a coincident).

I know I did this before and it worked. I exported all the parts as a single 3mf and was able to color the separate objects in the slicer.

To export and import 3D models with the correct scale and alignment, you need to make sure the units and scale settings of your 3D modeling software and Bambu studio are consistent and compatible. You can also check the uno online file format and settings of your exported files, and the quality and complexity of your 3D models 234.

@peter_williams653 I'm sure that by now you've already resolved your issue, but hopefully this reply can help some other poor schmuck like myself.

I ran into this same issue attempting to export to 3mf and import into the Bambu slicer. I received the question, "The object from file Ornament Test 6.3mf is too small, and may be in meters or inches.
Do you want to scale to millimeters?" which I kept answering yes. I found this question very odd, as my Onshape model environment was in millimeters, and I went through the trouble of editing each part to make it millimeters. What resulted was that some of my very small parts were enlarged 25.4 times their size (not all parts, which is what threw me). Investigating, I found that 25.4 is the conversion of inches to mm, so for some reason the Bambu slicer thought that some of my parts were in inches, while others were in mm.

So at least in my case, to resolve my issue, I just answered no to the scale to mm question when opening in Bambu Studio.

When I answered no to the scaling question, I received the question I was expecting, "This file contains several objects positioned at multiple heights.
Instead of considering them as multiple objects, should
the file be loaded as a single object having multiple parts?" to which I answered yes. At this point all my parts were the correct size and I was able to paint them in separately and slice the model without errors.

I've been using STEP with Bambu slicer and never have any issues with scaling or tessellation. Baking in triangles has always seemed like a bad idea to me unless you're making assets for games or movies.
