Why won't my dolphin extrude (solid).

I have used the curve tool/spline tool to outline the shape of my dolphin. I also thoroughly checked all the gaps and there weren't any gaps that were shown but, it still says it is unable to extrude my deisgn as a solid. Please help,

Thank you

Hello Tanisha. One way to track down vertices that don't intersect is by drawing lines across the sketch element. If an area turns grey the problem is in the area that didn't. See the images below. The second image reveals the unconnected vertices. - Scotty

There's also a custom feature for debugging this by Jon Sorrells called Open Sketch Points, which circles open areas.

I don’t know if this is close to what you were looking for. But for what it’s worth …

I noticed that the tail of your dolphin had a lot of points close together. There are other ways to trace over some thing if that’s what was being done.

Take a look at the way the dolphin was done in the document above

Now I could’ve reduced it to one sketch to make the dolphin instead of two, but sometimes it’s just easier to make an additional sketch if things happen to go red for whatever reason.

And as a result, I ended up having to do a BOOLEAN using my iPhone. By the way, the few extra features doesn’t bother me because it actually makes it easier to do — at least for me

But the point of the document above is that I get a couple of very smooth curves along the entire length of the body, and also some smooth curves at the tail
