Hello,

Continued to use CAM Studio, do you know if there can reorder the operations from Process Tree and if yes, how ? And what should I do to select only certain setup/operation with its tool and tool path to post? Now the Post Child Operations button controls entirely job, but what if I need to post just partial operations or only one operation separate.
It looks like there is no such option on this release. Hope it will be added, it would be beneficial.

Thank you.
Sorin

@sorin_rotaru You can reorder by long clicking on the operation and dragging it to a different location in the tree.

To post a single operation or a group of operations click the checkbox to view the toolpath. Next, click the icon "Post Selected operations."

Will this kick them out to a single file? I am getting a file for each op.

Also, any way to force the programs names to O####.NC?

@bill_schnoebelen To post a single file, you need to use the post child operations option. To edit additional post settings, edit the machine and switch over to post settings.

here you can set the program name, enable block numbers and movement settings and enable or disable arc output.

If are output is disabled, arcs will be X and Y movements only.

I can't understand how this changes the file type to N.C.

The Inventables machine is working for me, it is a light weight router table that produces an NC file. I ran the file without material on my machine that uses a Masso controller and it seems OK. Issues that I do have are that is that my machine has a cutting area of 1250mm x 1250 and the Inventables machine is much smaller so there is collisions with the X and Y axis when simulating. I have checked the button to ignore collisions and that works but for some reason I cannot turn the machine preview off. I have tried both options for posting multiple tool paths but I can only post one at a time.

    Hello,

The Inventables machine is tied to a GRBL control, which is a very basic ISO form.

Have you tried generating and running the NC produced by the "Generic 3-Axis Mill - Fanuc"? In theory, that should also run for you.

Currently CAM Studio allows NC generation in two methods:
    1. You don't select any operations and then generate NC - this will generate one file, with all operations
    2. You select which operations you want to post - this will generate one file per selected operation.

    Regards,
    Gabriel Stein

    Hello Gabriel
Thank-you for the reply. I was put off by the Fanuc machine because the table moves and not the spindle. I just tried it and have the same problem.
