Joining surfaces and parts

I have the attached surfaces and parts, where Nbrs 1, 2, and 3 are surfaces and part 4 is a part. I need to join surfaces 1 and 2 and surface 3 and part 4 to conform an overlap surface to be able to glue both resulting parts together. Maybe I didn't use the proper approach to obtain those surfaces-parts, and if there is another way to do this job, I will welcome ideas.

The model is not very precise, as you probably know. Besides the overlap resulting in undercuts, the jittery surfaces will most probably not join cleanly in the CAD model. May I suggest modeling the two parts (upper and lower) once again, this time as one single part, building only one side, then use an offset surface and two planes to split the whole thing, re-attach the overlap by booleans, then mirror? That will get you there in no time, while you'll get stuck fiddling with the old model forever. Sample approach:

Hello Ricardo. I could not quite comprehend the methods you've used in your document but I think I do understand that you need to split a part and in doing do create an overlapping joint for gluing. Perhaps you can create a surface and split the part using the surface as the split tool. Example below. - Scotty
