Loft with 2 guides

I'm hoping this is an easy fix (but possibly not!). 
I've created a loft between 2 sketches and have a top guide. I'd like the loft to also follow the side lines. I know why it won't follow them but I don't know how to fix it. 
If you look at this it will make sense.

You can make a loft from a profile to a point. When I tried this on your model the guides gave me trouble so I made a separate model to show technique,

I guess the guides are not consistent. It is a part that is basically symmetrical, but then it is modeled differently on both sides. The lower guides create an edge in the loft, so that might be an issue here. It can be modeled from center to one side, though, and then mirrored:
