Set starting position between two entities connected by gear mate

I am modeling a 6V engine. I would like to connect the crankshaft and the camshaft with a gear mate. The problem is that I need the Crankshaft and the Camshaft to have a specific relative position. So, for example, when cylinder 1 at the top dead center, the camshaft shall be a t a position that the exhaust valve is closing and the intake valve is opening. I tried several things but the crankshaft and the camshaft go to arbitrary angles every time when I activate the gear mate.

The crankshaft is inserted to the assembly from a part studio. The camshaft is part of the cylinder head assembly. The cylinder head assembly is inserted into the assembly. Is there a restriction that both gear mate entities must be inserted from part studios? The cylinder head assembly is quite complex with all the tangent mates between the camshaft and the rocker arms and the valves.

    Update

I figured out how to fix the issue. I fixed the issue using move/rotate one of the mate connectors of the revolute mate. Because this is a V6 engine, I had to make a copy of the cylinder head assembly Left and Right. The two assemblies are identical. The only difference is the zero angle of the camshaft.
