When I try and export a design (converting it to an STL file) it exports it as a PDF not as an STL

When I try and export a design (converting it to an STL file) it exports it as a PDF not as an STL 
Could someone advise me what I'm doing wrong, please.

    I assume you're selecting "STL" as the format when you export? Can you share a copy of your file?

    Hi,

    are you sure you are running the export command from the part and not from the drawing? If I try to export a part I don't see the PDF option
