How to create a pattern along a curved extrude to texture face??

Don't know how to word this but I need to make a repeated texture along a curving face either at the sketch or extruded level. We have circular and Linear patterns but nothing the follows a line of a sketch or extrude edge..
This is the sketch of that would need to be altered to allow many bumps with in the curve between peaks. Next images below, is the way I came up with doing it but will take eons to do manually and there are 2 different models that would need to be done and match exactly as these halve get bonded together once 3d printed.
Hopefully there is a function/process for something like this?
