Help with properly animating a worm gear

kael_ckael_c Member Posts: 3 EDU
I cant seem to find the correct Relation ratio using the gear mate, i am using a 4 tooth worm gear with a 20 tooth spur gear. What kind of math should i use to figure out the Relation Ratio?

That's a weird worm gear, so it's hard to calculate the pitch, but it's something like 4.8 mm in your assembly.  And the pitch diameter of the other gear is 40 mm.  So the gear ratio would be 4.8/(pi *40) = 0.038.  Or it might be the reciprocal of that, 26.18.
