3rd party stylus support iPad

I am switching from Shapr3D and so far have found Onshape to be feature rich and the iPad app to be decent.
One reason I left Shapr3D is due to mandatory Apple Pencil use. I have switched to a Zagg Pro Stylus 2 which is a decent stylus, but does not support pressure sensitivity. I enjoy sketching, drawing and designing using this stylus on the iPad and find it comparable to the Apple Pencil.
Unfortunately OnShape has a strange behavior when sketching with the Zagg stylus, which is that it zooms in immediately when you start sketching. This makes the app unusable.
I am probably not the only one that appreciates third party stylus options, so it would be great if this default behavior was adapted to not zoom in when a pressure incapable stylus is used.
Note that even Apple now has an Apple Pencil that does not support pressure sensitivity and the Logitech crayon, also blessed by Apple, does not have pressure support either.
Has anyone out there used “pressure free” pencils with success?
is this a general issue or just a “Zagg” issue?
If it is a general issue I hope Onshape can make a little fix to default to not zooming in, in this case when sketching lines and rectangles etc. With a “pressure incapable” stylus.
