"dissolve" pattern.

Is there a way to break the associativity in a pattern (in assembly)
I regulary need to move 1 (or few) of the elements in a pattern. patterning is great for an initial instancing and placement. but afterwards I need to be able to move the individual parts around..
Thanks in advance.

Here is an improvement request for this: Dissolve assembly pattern - Improvement request

In the mean time, instead of using linear pattern, you could create a guide surface with holes cut into it everywhere you would have needed the pattern, then place it in the assembly where your pattern needs to be. Then, instead of using pattern, use Replicate, which is able to dissolve.

    Hi @MichaelPascoe
thanks! I have a feeling replicate (if expanded with extra functionality like instancing to mate connectors (positioned freely in space ) instead of being limited to features in a plane) could potentially be very powerfull. hope this comes in one of the next releases...
I'll check it out if this can work in my case.
