Can't figure out how to taper these corners inward (can't get chamfer or filet to work)

I'm trying to get make it so that these for corners are not hanging off the circle base. I think an easy way to do that would be to taper them inward. I think I would usually use a filet or chamfer to do this, but it's not working. Can someone point me in the right direction? I'm guessing it's going to involve backing up a few steps.
I am going to 3D print this so need to avoid overhangs. Thanks.
