What's the best way to reference a dimension from a part in another part

I have frame assembly made of 4 different alu extrusions. Now I want to put panels on it but the panel size depends on the extrusions lengths. I could draw all in same part but I don't like doing that as it becomes a mess quickly. Is there any way to reference that dimensions from another part? Or may there is a different method of doing it all-together?
Thanks
