How can I get the cam to work the whole way round?

hey everyone,

I have a cam and follower mechanism in my design for opening a valve. in the assembly I have used the tangent mate, and it works only for the part of the cam which is not aligned with the rest of the shaft. here is the link to the document https://cad.onshape.com/documents/5aaf431ada3e0a7ac97c214a/w/946b3344414104845f887f2d/e/5fb39ee84edf5dda5053bccb?renderMode=0&uiState=65f722c0f6dcef4e14cf22ef.
is there a way to make it follow the whole way round?

The cam is in the part studio named gears and inlet cam and the sketch is "Sketch 1"

the assembly is in the assembly tab called "Assembly"

There is a workaround that will work. If you model an extra part of just the cam section without the shaft the tangent mate will follow and then you just hide the part. Not perfect but does the job.

I'm not sure how to reply so I quoted you, Thanks very much for the advice, could you send me the link to your copy so I can see exactly what you did, because it looks to me as if you have a whole separate part attached? if you just send me the link, I'll figure it out, thanks again!
