"Right Click" on Trackpad in Drawings not working on Mac

jacob_sheffieldjacob_sheffield Member Posts: 11 EDU
Is there a solution to "right click" or "secondary click" on a trackpad on a Mac while working in the Drawings environment? I've found discussions of this issue dating back to 2017. It is possible to secondary click in all other areas (i.e., part studios, assemblies, etc.) on a trackpad on a Mac, except while working in the drawings environment. (Note, it does seem to work in Windows OS) This is extremely limiting when I work without my mouse to access these menu options. It must be an accidental missing feature as it works in every other environment and on Windows OS, and seems too obvious, however it seems to be a missing feature for multiple years now.

This is consistent with alternative methods to secondary click, including "Ctr"+"click". This problem exists both in Chrome and Safari.

If anyone is aware of a solution, please let me know.

I have the same issue on my laptop Macs. On my Mac OS settings, I always have the below set, for many years, before OS was around.

In the 3D environment, lightly tapping with 2 fingers will bring up the right click menu. However in the 2D environment, the same thing does nothing. I have no idea why.

The solution with my Mac OS settings is to physically press the trackpad so that it clicks with two fingers. Then, it will open the right click menu, and you can work on drawings without a mouse.

Interesting! Thank you. That works. I've never heard of this happening in any other software where I need to physically press the trackpad with two fingers to secondary click. It still seems odd that the two finger tap for secondary click doesn't work in the OnShape 2D environment, but this will get what I need. Thank you.

Yes, same. Idk why and I discovered it by accident I think a couple years back.
