Custom Features for Additive Manufacturing: Hose barbs, luer locks, threads, dovetail o-ring grooves

Hiya folks!

Coming in hot with my first, second, third, and fourth FeatureScript drops. These are all designed to help designers to who want to use 3D printing, particularly with an emphasis on part consolidation (my company, Inkbit, is very excited about providing 3D printing as a real production technology) . Rather than screwing a bunch of components to something like a manifold, just print the manifold and the fittings all as one piece. I had the opportunity to present these at Onshape's Boston user group meeting last week, and now I'm publicly releasing them.

First we have Barb Fitting: Click on one or more points or mate connectors and drop a hose barb. Pick your size, multiple vs single barb, even add a shield for protecting small barbs from damage in handling.

Next is Luer Lock: Similar to Barb Fitting, select one or more points or mate connectors and drop male or female luer lock connectors at those locations.

Then we've got Modeled Threads: Select faces to apply threads to. Unlike some of the other popular thread FeaturesScripts, this one cuts the threads, so you can use the the built in Onshape Hole tool to create the holes as the tap drill size and then cut threads into them. Particularly useful if you want to be able to prototype with 3D printing but want to machine in the end. If you want the drawing callouts of the hole tool for your production part but want printed threads for prototypes, you can toggle modeled threads on and off by adding a configuration variable and keep your feature tree a little cleaner.

Lastly we've got Dovetail O-ring Groove: Like the name implies, select a path for an o-ring and the feature will cut a dovetail groove into your part. Dovetails are nice for retaining o-rings, but pretty difficult to machine, so if you're using AM, it's an easy little advantage to add to your parts.

I also threw together a part to show all of the features being used in one place. Available here.

I would love to get some feedback, and I'm happy to answer questions or take requests for improvements or whole new features.
