Removable Pin in Lock Assembly

I am trying to model a lock mechanism in Onshape's Assembly feature. I am trying to figure out how I could limit the rotation of the inner lock cylinder when the pins are down, but then let it freely rotate when they are up.     There's no simple way to do this. You could configure the two states so that certain mates are active or suppressed, or you could do something much complex where you connect all the pins and the cylinder to helper surfaces to animate the whole thing.
