how to Animate this Pin and Slot through a curved feature

I just can figure this one out.  I have this simple model with a slotted curved arm and a pin. I want to Animate this so that the pin follows the slot (as in the attached gif).  I've tried multiple combinations of Pin Slot Mates, Planar Mates and Tangent Mates but I cannot seem to get any Animation to work.

In the gif I have a Planar Mate (bottom face of pin to top face of slot) AND a Tangent Mate (cylinder face of Pin to to the curved surface of the Arm)...which obviously works when I manually move the pin.

As stated I cannot figure out a way to Animate this.   Any ideas?

You’ll likely need to add some sort of (hidden) helper surface. Either mate the pin to an object which moves linearly or rotating.

@jon_lopez363 Well, you beat me. I have basically the same setup and can't even get the pin to move in the slot past the straight segment. I'm using the same setup (planar and tangent mates), but no dice. See kitchen | mfu. it just keeps going straight. Care to share how you got yours to work? Or, see anything wrong with mine?

Well… you could animate a back and forth linear rail and use a Parallel mate to line them up but it wouldn't be animated in sync as it'll sync to only one axis (but it won't work vertically)

If i don't make sense, i can make and share an example document!
