Extend hole defined by sketch on one part through another part defined by sketch on different plane

This document contains two parts. The 'slide' part has a hole defined by a sketch on one surface and extruded through the part. The 'pillbox' part is defined by a sketch in a plane orthogonal to the 'slide' sketch plane, with an extrusion to create the solid. I want to have the hole in the 'slide' part extend through the 'pillbox' part, but I can't select the 'pillbox' part for the merge scope for the 'slide' hole extrusion. What am I missing here?
TIA,
Frank
