Can you hollow a loft?

paul_pasturapaul_pastura Member Posts: 4
Hi I am trying to design a case insert to 3D print and I would be very grateful if someone could help me with the last piece which is to simply remove the bottom face and hollow it out to leave me 2.5mm shell.  I have tried Shell, Boolean subtract and all sorts of funky workarounds and I am pulling my hair out.  It seems that the thickest shell I can achieve is 0.1mm
Please help - Thanks in advance

Hey @paul_pastura, this issue is probably happening around this area.
Try simplifying the shape or a copy of the shape so that when the shell or thicken calculates, the faces don't intersect each other too much when the 2.5mm offset takes place.

For more detailed help, please make your document copy-able.

Thanks, I suspected as much. I've revised the design and taken a new approach which makes it easier to print too.
