Extrude from a curve to a straight line?!

I am trying to make a mounting hook for a hat hanger and would love to know how to get the strut to meet the curve properly:

Hat hanger: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B09TDSDYQV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

Model: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/2faf6bfc82780ddfa524b1e9/w/5c3ec142cf6e83dcc72e32c5/e/c5753f934308b61d7e692110

As you can see the diagonal strut meets the curve perfectly in the middle but then the curve (which is a sweep) bends away from the strut in each direction.  How would you marry up these two surfaces elegantly?

Look at the "loft" command - but as a warning, it is one of the more complex commands, and takes a little study to learn how to use properly (check out the self help courses).
