Part selection not intuitive

Hi i am relatively new to this software. i love it in general but after many years working with other cad software part selection is very bugging me out. If i have 1 part selected and i click on another one for whatever reason i have both part select. Click on a third one i have now 3. Its like multiple part selection is always on. Is their any way i can turn this feature off ?? its really not intuitive and the workflow is just not there just because of that. Ive try to get used to it but its just not working for me.

    The prevailing opinion is that you get used to it. Protip: spacebar clears your selection. Personally, as an everyday CAD user, I think it feels great.

    Didnt know for the Spacebar. That would help for sure. I was everyday cad user too for the last 15 years on inventor maybe its because of that, its hard coded in me lol.
    Anyway thank for the tip
