Hello,
while drawing a sketch, when we are making a line,
lets say, I place my first point in a random location, and I place the second one:

  • on an existing line of the sketch, the line tool will not be exit and a second line will 'beging' to be created where the first point of it will be the second one of the first line.
  • on an existing point, it will highlight the point with a orange square and the tool will not be exit but I will be free to place the first point of the second line wherever I want.
Is it possible to get the second behavior for the first case? something like the behavior we get when maintaining the shift key will remove the auto constraints?
this behavior is one of the most annoying have in sketch, as if i want to keep drawing separate lines i need to exit and re enter every time the tool.
and also the contrary? (for example having 3 points, creating a line from p0 to p1, and with a key snap to the 2 point but at the same time stoping it from not continuing the line and that the next line begings at p1)

    Hi Franco,

try to double-click to close the line. You'll be able to draw a new line separated to the first.

I hope it is useful to you

Hold down the LMB while drawing the line instead of just clicking to place the first point.

Perhaps I don't understand the question. But the default behavior for onshape (in the US) is that if you move the cursor to the point that you want the line to start on and press the left mouse button (do not release it), then move the cursor to the point where the line is to end and let up on the left mouse button. The line tool is still active, but not trying to start a new line. Combined with the shift key you mentioned, I find this to be an efficient sketching workflow.
