Using a MC as a reference for exporting a solid?

This is one of those questions that I prefer to ask before creating an IR.
When exporting from a Part Studio or an Assembly, the reference frame for the exported solids is the origin of the Part Studio or Assembly. Whenever I want to export it with a different reference frame I find myself creating a specific assembly for that. Which is so unconvenient.
Is there a simpler way to do this? Wouldn't it be great if I just could select any MC as a reference for exports?
