Intro to sketching - polygons - diameter

I am trying to go through the intro to sketching, but I am confused by the polygons:

Apparently, after placing a polygon and selecting the number of sides, I should be able to modify the diameter just by typing a number, but no matter what I try I am not able to.
What could be the problem?

    • select the polygon tool
    • click once to define the center
    • move away from the center and click a second time to define the size
    • move your mouse to define the number of sides
    • click a third time when you have the right number of sides
    • type a diameter and hit enter
