Cannot get the Sketch to extrude

This is my first project.  I have gone through much of the tutorials, but remain stumped.  I can get pieces of the sketch to extrude, but I cannot get the entire assembly to extrude.  What am I doing wrong?

Non-manifold geometry is the problem. It means surfaces converging on a line or point. The system can't solve it. The solution is to overlap the two walls.

Here is a simpler way to make your shape using shell instead of thin extrudes.
